Recently, the Fredericktown FFA chapter sent nine members amongst 65,000 FFA members in attendance from all of the United States to the 90th annual National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. As part of the convention, they had the opportunity to meet members from around the country, attend leadership workshops, hear words of wisdom from motivational speakers, and visit the FFA Career Show. The career show boasts more than 1,300 booths representing agriculture-related companies, colleges, US Armed Forces and much, much more.
One of the favorite speakers of the group was Laila Ali, a keynote speaker at convention. Laila is the daughter of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. She spoke on never giving up on your dreams, that hard work will pay off, to reach for your goals, and to trust your heart.
Milan Pozderac is also serving as State Vice President at Large for Ohio, and was recognized at convention.
In the convention sessions students learned how to turn their leadership skills from “I can” to “We will” and they learned how they could also encourage their local chapter members to reach their potential and grow as well. The chapter also enjoyed a concert by Rascal Flatts.
Fredericktown FFA Advisor is Debra Burden.
