NEWARK, OH – Licking County FAMFEST, is a local celebration of Film, Arts, and Music. This community festival was built on the belief that experiences in film, art, and music can be a catalyst for personal, social, and economic transformation. Student filmmakers, and artists of all ages, are invited to participate. More information and the call for entries forms are at www.lickingcountyfamfest.com. There is no entry fee for either festival.
Student filmmakers are encouraged to submit recently made short films that align with the festival theme “Express Yourself” by September 15. Films selected for inclusion in the festival will be shown at the Licking County Library (Main Branch) on Friday, September 29. Filmmakers will be notified of acceptance the week of September 18.
The community art show is open to adults 18 and over, amateur and professional artists are encouraged to participate. All art should tie to the theme “Express Yourself” and submissions of an 8×10 photo of your work are due on September 8, along with the completed application form. Artist will be notified by September 15. The art venue if the Licking County Library (Main Branch) and the gallery show opening is at 4:00 on September 29.
Licking County FAMFEST celebrates its fourth year in 2017. The community film, arts and music festival will take place downtown Newark on September 20, 30 and October 1, with additional events and art classes happening now.
