Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, offers support group help for caregivers

MOUNT VERNON — Caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease is a challenge. Changes in the person’s behavior, caused by the progress of the disease, can lead to frustration and anxiety for a caregiver. To help those who care for individuals who have Alzheimer’s disease or a related memory loss disorder, the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, invites anyone who has a family member or friend with memory loss to attend the following support group meeting.

A support group will meet on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at 6:30 pm at the Brookdale Library, 1615 Yauger Road. For more information about the Mount Vernon support group, call Joyce Thomas at 614-570-5379 or Debbie McLarnan at 740-393-0608.

This meeting is free and open to the community. Caregivers attending a support group meeting find a relaxed, confidential atmosphere. They are among other caregivers and discuss suggestions for handling specific medical, legal, behavioral and financial problems. For more information about support groups or other services for caregivers, contact the Alzheimer’s Association at 1-800-272-3900.
