Fredericktown Christmas Walk planning this year’s event

Welcome and introductions; new member Bill VanNostrand, founder and representative of Fredericktown Area Merchants Association.  Other members present were Jim and Scarlet Crane of Traditions Engraving, Shari Miller, Cecelia McClelland, Joely Leply, Penny Smith and Laurey Grogg.

Decision was made regarding the design of the ornament.  At the next meeting Jim and Scarlet will have a sample in crystal and wood so the group can choose one or both.

The walk will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 3:00-7:00 p.m.

There will be an official Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the gazebo at 6:00 p.m. with local musicians/groups and an award ceremony where plaques engraved with the same design as the new ornament will be given to all corporate donors who donate $250 or more.

Scott Huvler and/or Brian Tucker will be given the honor of presenting the awards.

Members are working to get singers/musicians, petting zoo, group to sell Christmas trees, one additional tractor with wagon to carry people around town and to see the Christmas lights at Community Park.

Santa will be located at Aunt Ruth’s Attic this year.

Discussion of whether the Toy Shop is profitable; decision was made to try it one more year.

Merchants may have a Snowflake Hunt again this year.
